A sizeable delegation of the Kashmiri and Pakistani community travelled from Paris to Geneva under the leadership of International Kashmir Peace Forum Europe President Zahid Iqbal Hashmi to participate in the demonstration.

The group included women, children, elderly people and young members of the Kashmiri and Pakistani communities. Participants travelled to Geneva in special buses carrying placards and banners highlighting the Kashmir issue.

According to the organisers, the protest aims to draw international attention to the current situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir, alleged human rights violations and the issue of the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination.

The organisers said the demonstration is also intended to draw the attention of the United Nations and international human rights organisations to the situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir.

Participants in the delegation from Paris expressed their determination to raise their demands concerning Kashmir and called for greater international attention to the issue.

Leaders of the International Kashmir Peace Forum Europe said the Geneva protest was an effort to highlight the Kashmir issue internationally and remind global institutions of what they described as their responsibilities.

According to the organisers, members of the Kashmiri and Pakistani communities from several European countries are also taking part in the demonstration.

The protesters are presenting their demands outside the United Nations office in Geneva, calling on the international community to take notice of the human rights situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir and play an effective role regarding the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination.
