PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tahreek Insaf (PTI) leaders MNAs Shandana Gulzar, Atif Khan, Fazalullah and Muazam Butt opposed the proposed constitutional amendments and demanded the release of their party founder Imran Khan and other detained leaders.

The party leaders held a press conference at Peshawar press club and condemned the arrest of their MNAs and suppression of PTI, labeling the detained leaders and founder’s sisters as “political prisoners.” They pledged to intensify efforts for their release within the bounds of the constitution and law.

They said the PTI will commence another peaceful movement from Peshawar, marching towards D-Chowk, to resist unconstitutional actions and oppose amendments aimed at depriving women of reserved seats.

If passed, the amendments would equate the President and Prime Minister to martial law administrators, the leaders warned.
