PSX Crosses Historic 151,000 Points; Rupee Gains Against Dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) maintained its momentum on the second day of the business week, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index witnessing significant gains.

Trading began on a positive note, with the index surging by 386 points to reach 149,201 points in early hours.

Market activity remained strong throughout the session, and for the first time in history, the KSE-100 Index crossed the 151,000-point mark, setting a new record.

A day earlier, the index had also breached the 149,000 level but slipped into the red zone by market close. This time, however, sustained buying interest pushed the index to fresh highs, reflecting improved investor confidence.

Meanwhile, the local currency also showed signs of stability. According to the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, the rupee gained 10 paisas in the interbank market, with the US dollar trading at Rs 281.78.
