ISLAMABAD: While the PTI is all set to show its power near Islamabad on Sept 8, its opponents have accused the party of using the KP government’s resources to make the Jalsa successful.
According to Geo TV, the KP government was utilizing vehicles of different departments to transport PTI supporters to Islamabad form different areas of the province. The report said that even Rescue 1122 has been directed to allocate its ambulances for use in the Jalsa. Rescue 1122 has pasted white stickers on ‘Rescue 1122’ written on its vehicles to conceal it.
Last month the PTI postponed its public gathering in Tarnol Islamabad after its supporters reached the city. A large number of people had arrived in Islamabad using vehicles of the Khyber Pakthunkhwa government. The chief minister of KP Ali Amin Gandapur was even seen distributing currency notes of Rs5,000 among a group of PTI workers in Islamabad.
The PTI has been issued NOC for the public gathering on structure conditions. One of the condition is that the public gathering should start at 4:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m. Moreover, the organizers would not block any road to create inconvenience for the public.
Frequent rallies and public gatherings by political and religious parties have created lots of difficulties for the residents of Islamabad. In order to resolve the issue, the government has recently introduced a bill in Parliament to designate a specific venue for all political gatherings outside the capital city.
The bill also suggests punishment for anyone trying to organize a public meeting or rally in Islamabad without taking permission from the district administration.
However, the PTI has said that the introduction of the law was to restrain the party from organizing public gatherings in Islamabad which was its legal right.
