PTI founder, spouse indicted in Toshakhana case

RAWALPINDI: An accountability court here on Tuesday indicted former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case.

The hearing of the case was conducted inside the Adiala jail where the former prime minister is detained in another case. 

In the court, Imran Khan was provided with a charge sheet however he refused to sign it.

He was on August 5 last year arrested in the Toshakhana case but the Islamabad High Court suspended his three years’ imprisonment in the case.

Currently, the PTI founder is being held in jail in the cipher case.

On the other hand, lawyers of the former prime minister have challenged the verdict in the Toshakhana case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Imran Khan has been booked in a number of cases and being trialed in many of them inside the jail.

An anti-terrorism court yesterday also allowed his trial in cases related to the May 9 arson attacks on military installations.

In one such case, he is going to be probed by the police. The case related to the attack on the GHQ Rawalpindi in the wake of his arrest on May 9, 2023.
