PESHAWAR: A protest and wheel-jam strike are being observed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday following a call by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Deputy Information Secretary Ikram Khattana said that protest activities are underway in all districts of the province, with rallies being held at the district level.
In Peshawar, a peaceful march is being held from Hashtnagri to Chowk Yadgar, with participation from party leaders, workers, and members of the traders’ community. The march is being led by Provincial President Junaid Akbar, along with PTI members and district leadership.
Protesters will gather at Chowk Yadgar, where party leaders are expected to address the participants. Similar demonstrations are being reported from other districts, where MNAs and MPAs are leading the protests.
The protest and wheel-jam strike are part of PTI’s campaign to press its demands and mobilize public support across the province.
In other areas of the province, partial strikes were being reported with PTI supporters taking out rallies to condemn alleged rigging in the general elections held two years ago today.
