The decision was taken during a meeting of the PTI’s political committee though there has be no official statement from the party till filing of this report.

Earlier, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Secretary Shaukat Yousafzai denied media reports that the party had decided to call off the long march. He  claimed that the party’s preparations for the protest were complete.

Yousafzai said the party could reconsider the long march if the federal government entered into negotiations with PTI. He maintained that the march would remain peaceful and that government resources would not be used.

He also alleged that the federal government had blocked roads with containers in violation of a court ruling.

The PTI had announced the long march to the capital demanding the government to release it's founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.
