KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Union Council Chairman of Shah Faisal Town, Gohar Khattak, was arrested along with 24 associates during a police operation in Karachi on Monday.
According to police officials, the Korangi Industrial Area police conducted a raid and took Gohar Khattak into custody. Police said that weapons were recovered from his possession and a case has been registered against him.
The First Information Report (FIR) includes charges related to attempt to murder and attacking police personnel. Authorities alleged that Gohar Khattak, along with his associates, was present at the town office where he was inciting the public against the state and engaging in provocative activities.
Police officials stated that when officers reached the spot and attempted to stop the situation, Gohar Khattak and his companions allegedly attacked the police. Following an exchange of fire, police arrested Gohar Khattak and his associates.
