PTI workers clash with police, six injured

Police say PTI held a rally without permission and upon police move to stop them its workers attacked law enforcers.

KARAK: At least six people were injured after workers and activists of the PTI clashed with police in the Karak district of Khyber Pakthunkhwa on Sunday.

According to the police, the PTI workers held a rally without taking permission from the district administration. When the police reached the spot and tried to remove the gathering, the PTI workers swooped on the police. 

The PTI workers and supporters pelted police vehicles with stones and broke the windscreens using bamboos. 

The police had to resort to tear gas shelling and firing into the air to disperse the workers and clear the area of them 

It was learnt that at least six people were injured in the clash and shifted to hospital by Rescue 1122. The police later registered a case against the PTI workers for illegally holding a rally and attacking the police.
