PESHAWAR: PTI leader and former minister Khyber Pakthunkhwa Kamran Bangash was on Friday arrested in Peshawar in a corruption case.
Bangash had been hiding to avoid arrest after May 9 violence by the PTI following the arrest of PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan.
He was also nominated in the arson and corruption cases.
Police on a tip-off raided the residence of Bangash in Chamkani area of Peshawar today and arrested him. Later, he was shifted to the Chamkani police station.
It may be mentioned here that a day earlier the Supreme Court of Pakistan set aside a verdict of the Peshawar High Court that had barred the police from arresting PTI leaders Asad Qaiser in any case.
Scores of PTI leaders have quitted the PTI and even politics after condemning the May 9 violence and holding the top leadership of the party as responsible for it.
