PTI’s Yasmin Rashid, others indicted in arson attacks case

Anti-terrorism court also orders trial of PTI leaders in jail.

LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Tuesday indicted PTI leaders Yasmin Rashid, Mahmoodul Rashid and Ehaz Chaudhry.

The court also ordered the jail trial of the PTI leaders who have been arrested in connection with the arson attacks on military installations on May 9, 2023.

When the incarcerated leaders of the embattled PTI party of Imran Khan were presented in the ATC, they were handed copies of the charges. 

After indictment, the court adjourned further proceedings and summoned witnesses for the next hearing.

It may be noted here that PTI supporters went on a rampage and burnt down state property including army installations soon after the arrest of the party founder snd former prime minister Imran Khan in connection with a corruption case in Islamabad on May 9, 2023.

Hundreds of party workers were booked and arrested and about 103 of them are still in jail in connection with the cases registered against them in different parts of the country.
