According to the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs6.88 per litre to Rs391.22, while diesel has become Rs5.62 per litre more expensive, reaching Rs421.45 per litre.

The latest increase has triggered concerns among consumers, who say repeated fuel price hikes are adding to the cost of transportation and putting further pressure on household budgets.

The continuous rise in petroleum prices is also expected to affect businesses and the prices of goods and services, as higher fuel costs increase transportation and operating expenses.

With petrol now priced at nearly Rs400 per litre and diesel above Rs420, consumers are questioning how long they will have to bear successive increases in fuel prices.
