According to the policy, the University of Health Sciences (UHS) will conduct the centralised admissions process. Passing the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is mandatory for admission to medical and dental colleges.
The merit formula allocates 50% weightage to MDCAT scores, 40% to FSc marks and 10% to matriculation marks. Applicants must secure at least 60% marks in FSc to qualify for admission.
Biology and Chemistry are compulsory subjects, while candidates must also have passed either Physics or Mathematics.
Candidates applying to public medical colleges must list all colleges in order of preference. However, there is no limit on the number of preferences candidates may select for private medical colleges.
Successful candidates will be required to deposit their admission fees within three working days of the publication of the merit list.
The annual tuition fee for open-merit seats at public medical and dental colleges has been fixed at Rs50,000, according to the announced policy.
