Punjab Assembly members take oath in Lahore
Election of speaker and deputy speaker through secret ballot tomorrow.
LAHORE: Newly-elected members of the Punjab Assembly took oath on Friday. Speaker Sibtain Khan administered the oath in the assembly.
The election of speaker and deputy speaker through secret ballot tomorrow. The session of the assembly was convened at 10am however it started with a delay of two hours.
Outgoing speaker Sibtain Khan chaired the session and administered the oath to the members, including Maryam Nawaz Sharif who has been nominated by the PML-N for the slot of the chief minister.
As many as 215 members of the PML-N and 97 belonging to the Sunni Ittehad Council (PTI) were present in the assembly.
