DERA GHAZI KHAN: All routes linking Dera Ghazi Khan with Balochistan have been sealed as part of heightened security measures following recent security incidents in the province.

Deputy Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan, Muhammad Usman Khalid, confirmed that all traffic heading towards Balochistan has been completely suspended.

He stated that passengers are currently not allowed to travel to Balochistan via DG Khan, and all inter-provincial border crossings, including Bawata, Rakhi Gaj, and the Taunsa–Musa Khel Road, have been closed for all kinds of traffic.

No vehicle is permitted to move from Punjab into Balochistan until further notice.

The move comes amid an escalated security situation in Balochistan. Security sources reported that multiple terrorist attacks were foiled in areas including Quetta, Gwadar, and Panjgur. During counter-terrorism operations, security forces killed 92 terrorists, including three suicide bombers.

According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the planners, facilitators, and abettors involved in terrorist activities will be brought to justice.

The ISPR added that operations under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated.
