Punjab Chief Minister Launches IT Internship Program
LAHORE: Under the Chief Minister IT Internship Program, the Punjab government will support 30,000 IT graduates by providing them internship opportunities.
Officials said that each intern will receive a stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month. The five-year program will cost the government Rs. 30 billion.
Selected interns will receive the stipend for four months, and private IT companies hosting the interns will receive a subsidy of Rs. 12,500 per candidate per month.
The Punjab Information Technology Board will oversee the internship program, and a central internship portal will be created to manage candidate recruitment and onboarding.
The program also includes plans to provide globally recognized IT certifications to interns and organize technology expos and innovation festivals.
