Chief minister visits Arshad Nadeem’s house with gifts

Presents cheque for Rs100m, announces gift of car.

LAHORE: Chief minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the house of Pakistani Olympics gold medalist Arshad Nadeem in Mian Channu.

The Chief Minister landed in the village in a helicopter and in a convoy of vehicles reached the house of Nadeem Arshad. He met Nadeem Arshad and his parents in the house. 

Talking to media later, the father of the gold medalist said that the Chief Minister presented a check for rupees 100 million to his son and also handed over a brand new car to Nadeem with a special registration number of 92.97. 

Moreover, the Chief Minister told the family that the roads in the village of the athlete would be reconstructed and a University would also be established in Mian Channu.

Maryam Nawaz said that Nadeem brought honor to Pakistan by winning gold medal after 40 years and the government would support athletes and players of different games who have lots of potential.
