LAHORE: The Grand Alliance is continuing its protest sit-in during the holy month of Ramadan.
Around two dozen government employees are staging the demonstration outside the Punjab Civil Secretariat, demanding action on their long-standing grievances.
The protesting employees say their demands have been repeatedly presented to authorities but no meaningful progress has been made, prompting them to continue the sit-in.
Key demands include the restoration of pensions, payment of leave encashments, regularization of contract employees, government jobs for children of employees who die during service, and permanent employment for daily-wage staff.
The Grand Alliance emphasized that these measures are essential for ensuring fair treatment of government employees and resolving persistent administrative issues.
