According to the School Education Department, head teachers, teachers and students achieving results of 80% or above will receive special badges and certificates of appreciation.
Those achieving results between 60% and 79% will be awarded certificates, while Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of education authorities have been directed to organise ceremonies to recognise high-performing teachers and students.
Under the accountability mechanism, head teachers and teachers of schools recording results below 20% in Grade 9 will face disciplinary action under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act 2006.
Cases involving teachers in BS-16 and below will be handled at the district level, while cases concerning head teachers and teachers in BS-17 and above will be referred to the School Education Department.
The department said the policy was aimed at encouraging teachers who deliver strong academic results while ensuring accountability for poor performance.
Individual responsibility will be determined on the basis of teachers’ performance and students’ academic results, the department said.
