Qureshi manhandled, arrested in another case

Police say PTI leader is to be questioned in connection with May 9 cases in which he is already booked.

RAWALPINDI: PTI leader and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was manhandled at the Adiala jail and arrested in another case after his bail in the cipher case.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan had granted bail to Qureshi in the cipher case over which he was in Adiala jail along with former prime minister Imran Khan. 

However, police did not release him saying he was to be investigated in another case. When he tried to speak to a group of officials and his family, the Punjab police manhandled jim and took him inside the Adiala jail again.

Qureshi said he was not involved in any case but was being targeted as a political victimization. 

Police said that Qureshi was booked in the May 9 and 10 cases and the deputy commissioner of Rawalpindi had issued his detention order under the Maintenance of Public Order ordinance. 

The police said that the PTI leader was to be questioned in connection with the case.

The RA Bazar police arrested him in connection with the May 9 and 10 cases for 15 days.
