LAHORE: A weather system bringing rain and snowfall has entered Punjab, including Lahore, triggering forecasts of wet conditions in various regions.
The Meteorological Department reported that while the system has weakened, today is expected to remain cloudy with fog and mist.
Experts predict light rain in Lahore and several districts of the province tomorrow, with potential relief from common ailments like cold, cough, and fever due to the rain.
The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has also forecast thunderstorms and snowfall in mountainous areas, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, and Pothohar. Light rain is expected between December 20 and 21 in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, and other districts.
DG PDMA Irfan Ali Khatia stated that the rains would help reduce fog and smog. He advised citizens to wear masks and limit outdoor exposure. The PDMA is closely monitoring the situation 24/7, with emergency centers set up in Murree for tourists. For emergencies, people can contact 1129.
