Rainstorm Wrecks Havoc In DI Khan; 10 Dead

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The city of Dera Ismail Khan and its adjoining areas were struck by heavy rains accompanied by strong winds, causing widespread destruction.

Reports confirm that several houses collapsed while trees were uprooted in different localities. Power supply was severely disrupted after an 11,000 kV main transmission tower fell, plunging several areas into darkness.

In Paharpur, a tragic incident occurred where a mother and her son lost their lives when the roof of their house collapsed. On Grid Road, three people were killed when solar panels came crashing down during the storm. Additionally, five more fatalities have been reported in separate incidents.

According to hospital officials, more than 60 injured people have so far been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital D.I. Khan, with several of them said to be in critical condition. Multiple feeders have tripped, and electricity supply remains completely suspended in some areas.

Meanwhile, in Islamabad, authorities have forecast heavy rains and closed all major trails in the Margalla Hills as a precautionary measure.
