ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the Ramadan Relief Package 2026 is being distributed through digital wallets, marking a major step in transparent and efficient financial assistance in Pakistan.

This system allows eligible beneficiaries to receive Rs.13,000 each directly in their digital wallets, eliminating long queues at banks and ensuring that recipients’ dignity is preserved. Officials reported that as of February 8, 2026, 64% of beneficiaries had already received their payments, with the remaining disbursements undergoing verification.

The program involves 12 banks and fintech companies working alongside the government to manage secure and real-time digital transfers. Over 1.1 million digital transactions have been completed, and real-time dashboards are being used to monitor the flow of funds, ensuring full transparency and accountability.

Automated calls and awareness campaigns have been conducted to help beneficiaries access the digital wallet system, highlighting the government’s push toward cashless, data-driven financial support. The initiative covers the entire country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Prime Minister Sharif described the digital distribution method as a landmark in Pakistan’s social welfare programs, improving efficiency while maintaining accountability and beneficiary dignity.
