ISLAMABAD: Security has been tightened in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, with key entry and exit points sealed ahead of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) march on Friday.

According to officials, containers have been placed on major highways and roads, including Faizabad Interchange, to block movement towards the federal capital.

Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in large numbers to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.

In addition, mobile phone services have been suspended in several areas on the directions of the Interior Ministry, as part of the security measures to prevent any potential misuse of communication networks during the march.

Public transport has been restricted in some areas, and citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel as traffic diversions and roadblocks may cause delays.

Authorities have emphasized that the security measures are precautionary, aimed at ensuring peace and stability during the TLP’s planned demonstration.
