PESHAWAR: The Human Rights Council of Pakistan (HRCP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter on Wednesday condemned the assassination of Palestinian leader Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.
In a joint statement, HRCP KP President Nosheerwan and General Secretary Advocate Masooma Mir expressed profound sorrow and outrage over the martyrdom of Haniyeh, a stalwart and champion of Palestinian freedom movement.
Advocate Mir highlighted Haniyeh’s unwavering dedication to the cause, who spent years in the field of jihad, ever ready to sacrifice his life for the Palestinian people. He had also made the ultimate sacrifice, losing family and loved ones in this noble pursuit.
The HRCP called for justice and accountability for the extrajudicial killing of Ismail Haniyeh and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people in their quest for freedom and human rights.
President Nowsheerwan added that the HRCP would raise its voice seeking justice for this heinous crime and appealed to the international community to take immediate notice of the ongoing atrocities against the Palestinian people.
“We strongly condemn this cowardly act and pray for the elevated status of the martyr. We demand justice for the Palestinian people and an end to these brutal atrocities.”
The HRCP also extended its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who were martyred alongside Haniyeh, praying for their patience and fortitude in this time of immense grief.
