Rising mugging cases stun visitors to NYC’s park
NEW YORK: There has been a quick increase in mugging incidents in New York City’s Central Park located in the heart of Manhattan.
The string of street crime incidents just in two days has however sent shockwaves through the community. The locals said on Thursday evening, a woman was assaulted by a criminal near the intersection of West 97th Street and West Drive. The bandit forcibly grabbed her and snatched her valuables besides making lewd demands.
Less than 24 hours later, a man was brutally beaten and robbed in a brazen attack near East 59th Street and East Drive, leaving the residents stunned.
There was no end to such incidents as at 10:10 on Friday night, two teens fought another visitor who tried to rob him on gunpoint in 110th street and East Drive.
