Russian Aircraft Crashes, 29 Dead

MOSCOW: A Russian military transport aircraft crashed, resulting in the deaths of 29 people.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the military transport plane An-26 crashed in Crimea. Among the victims were 23 passengers and 6 crew members.

Officials said that shortly after takeoff, the pilot lost contact with air traffic control, after which the aircraft crashed. Rescue teams have managed to locate the wreckage.

Initial reports suggest that the crash may have been caused by a technical fault, but further investigations are underway.
