ISLAMABAD: Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matvienko set to address a special session of Senate on Monday.
Valentina Matvienko arrived in Islamabad on Sunday evening on a three-day visit on the invitation of Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani.
The Russian speaker along with her delegation landed at Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi.
Relations between Pakistan and Russia have enhanced in different sectors in the last many years with visits of high level delegations.
The Russian speaker will meet Senate Chairman Gillani and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. She will also call on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Her visit is expected to be a catalyst in promoting more such bilateral visits to explore avenues of trade and other cooperation ftom each country.
