Saira Peter Makes History at London’s Royal Albert Hall

LONDON: Pakistani-British opera singer Saira Peter has achieved a major milestone by becoming the first Pakistani female singer to perform at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.

Peter delivered a notable performance at a concert alongside more than 525 Western classical musicians, including the All Souls Orchestra and a grand choir featuring over 400 voices.

The achievement marks a significant moment in Pakistan’s representation on the international classical music stage.

Saira Peter has also been selected by the Government of Pakistan for the prestigious Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2026. She is scheduled to receive the presidential award on March 23 next year.

Pakistan announces its presidential awards every year on August 14, while the honours are formally presented on March 23 at ceremonies held at the Presidency and the four Governor Houses.
