Salaried Class Pays Rs44 Billion in Income Tax in July

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs44 billion in income tax from the salaried class during July 2026, marking an increase of Rs2 billion compared to the same month last year.

According to sources, tax collection from salaried individuals stood at around Rs42 billion in July 2025, while the figure rose to Rs44 billion in July 2026. In July 2024, the FBR had collected approximately Rs30 billion in income tax from the salaried class.

Meanwhile, the FBR collected Rs15.5 billion in advance income tax on property transactions during July 2026. Around 90,000 property sale and purchase transactions were recorded during the month.

The data further showed that property transactions increased by nearly 50 percent compared with the first month of the previous fiscal year. Around 60,000 property transactions had been recorded in July 2025.
