ISLAMABAD: In the wake of unprovoked firing by Afghan forces along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and Pakistan’s prompt and effective response, Saudi Arabia has issued a statement urging both countries to refrain from escalating tensions.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the recent clashes in the border regions and emphasized that Pakistan and Afghanistan should prioritize dialogue, exercise wisdom, and demonstrate restraint to maintain peace and stability in the region.
The statement further reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting all regional and international initiatives that promote peace, security, and prosperity, with particular focus on ensuring a better future for the peoples of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
According to the Saudi foreign ministry, the kingdom is dedicated to fostering regional security and hopes to see improved relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, enabling both nations to pursue sustainable development and shared prosperity.
