ISLAMABAD: Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sheherbano Naqvi will visit Saudi Arabia along with her family as a royal guest, according to media reports.
ASP Sheherbano shot to prominence and received accolades for saving a young woman from being lynched by a charged mob in Ichra Bazaar of Lahore after someone accused her of committing ‘blasphemy’ by wearing a dress bearing Arabic calligraphy a few days ago.
Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al Maliky invited the ASP to the embassy and paid her tributes on behalf of his country.
The ambassador told the young police officer that the Saudi government had invited her along with her family to visit the country as royal guests.
The ambassador said that all arrangements were being made for the visit by the embassy and the Saudi government.
Meanwhile, people from all walks of life on social media are also hailing the young police officer and also demanding that culprits involved in the incident should be punished. They said such incidents create a very bad of Pakistan.
