ISLAMABAD: Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umra Dr. Taufeeq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabiya along with a delegation arrived in Islamabad on Sunday evening on a four-day visit.
He was welcomed by caretaker Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmad and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Almalki at the airport.
During the visit, the Saudi delegation will discuss with Pakistani officials various issues related to the facilities being provided to the Pakistani Hajj and Umra pilgrims, Road to Mecca project.
The Saudi minister will also meet with the president, caretaker prime minister and the chief of army staff. The visiting Saudi delegation comprises heads of the Saudi civil aviation and airlines and other department.
Hajj policy
Meanwhile, caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Aneeq Ahmed underscored the importance of swift approval of Hajj policy. He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad which focused on accelerating the application process for next year Hajj and comprehensive implementation of a long-term Hajj policy.
The meeting made commitment to expedite the processing of next year Hajj applications, and ensure a seamless process for aspiring pilgrims.
A proposal to collect funds for future pilgrimage through convenient installments was also considered, which will facilitate the financial aspect of the pilgrimage.
