The summer holidays, which began on May 22 and continued until August 23, were announced by the Punjab government in view of the intense heat and heatwave conditions across the province.
Classrooms were once again filled with students, many of whom appeared pleased to return and meet their friends and teachers after the prolonged break.
The reopening of educational institutions has also increased traffic pressure on roads, particularly in Lahore and other major cities. Parents, students and school vans have returned to routes that had remained relatively quiet during the holidays.
Traffic police have deployed wardens on key roads and around schools to ensure smooth traffic flow and control congestion during school hours.
The traffic police have advised parents and citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during school timings and follow traffic rules to help prevent congestion.
The Education Department has also directed educational institutions across Punjab to ensure 100 per cent attendance of teachers and staff.
Special arrangements for cleanliness and dengue prevention were also completed before schools reopened, with authorities instructed to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for students and staff.
