Schools Reopen in Peshawar, Closed in Mardan and Swabi

PESHAWAR: Educational institutions in Peshawar reopened as usual, while schools and other educational facilities remained closed in Mardan and Swabi following orders from local administrations.

Education department officials said all educational institutions in Peshawar were operating normally and no holiday had been announced by the department.

However, students in sensitive areas faced difficulties reaching their schools and colleges because of road closures.

Officials said educational institutions in Mardan and Swabi remained closed under orders issued by the respective deputy commissioners.

The authorities added that local administrations could decide to keep educational institutions closed depending on the prevailing security situation, and such decisions would be implemented accordingly.
