ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the role of scouts in emergency situations and disaster management is indispensable.
According to details, the president congratulated more than 500,000 members of the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association and appreciated their services to the nation.
He stated that scouting plays an important role in the physical, mental, and spiritual development of young people and urged the youth to focus on character building.
President Zardari further emphasized that scouts should actively contribute toward building a green and climate-resilient Pakistan. He also highlighted the importance of creating a drug-free and digitally empowered nation.
He said that scouts must play an active role in eliminating polio from Pakistan and noted that the Founder of the Nation, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had described scouting as essential for character development among youth.
The president expressed confidence that the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association would play a more effective role at the global level and continue to serve as a strong force in nation-building.
