Scrutiny of nomination papers complete
Papers of Imran, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Qaiser, Sheikh Rashid and Akhter Mengal rejected.
ISLAMABAD: Returning officers across Pakistan under the Election Commission of Pakistan completed the scrutiny of nomination papers for the Feb 2004 general elections.
Most of the papers of the PTI candidates, including Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Qaiser, Azam Swati and Zulfi Bukhari, were rejected.
Appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be submitted till Wednesday and decisions on these appeals will be made by the 10th of January.
The preliminary list of candidates will be displayed on the eleventh of January and candidates can withdraw their nomination papers by January 12.
The electoral symbols will be allotted on the thirteenth of next month and polling for the general elections will be held on February 8.
