BAJAUR: The second phase of the relocation of families from the remote mountainous area of Tirah in Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has officially begun.
During the first phase, which took place from January 10 to February 11, a total of 30,945 families were relocated from the area. The district administration completed the registration of affected families and provided them with transportation allowances to ensure safe relocation.
Officials stated that between February 12 and February 16, the administration conducted verification and scrutiny of families eligible for assistance. This process aimed to ensure fair distribution of relief funds, accurate data, and transparency.
The second phase, which began recently, focuses on financial assistance. So far, 1,978 families have received Rs. 250,000 per family via mobile SIM transfers, with remaining families scheduled to receive their payments in stages.
Authorities stressed timely disbursement and proper verification as key priorities during this phase.
The relocation initiative began on January 10 and continued through February 11 in the first phase, and now continues under stricter oversight to ensure relief reaches those most in need.
