KARACHI: The U.S. Department of State has issued a security alert, temporarily restricting American government personnel from visiting high-end hotels in Karachi due to a potential threat.
According to the alert, the U.S. Consulate in Karachi received intelligence regarding a possible threat targeting upscale hotels in the city. In response, American officials have been advised to suspend their visits and gatherings at these venues until further notice.
The U.S. State Department noted that, as a precaution, similar measures are often taken at tourist spots, hotels, markets, shopping malls, and restaurants in other countries whenever such threats are identified.
Local authorities in Karachi have not released specific details about the nature of the threat but are reportedly coordinating closely with foreign missions and law enforcement agencies.
Security has been heightened in sensitive areas of the city, and hotel administrations have been advised to remain vigilant and enhance surveillance measures.
