PESHAWAR: Authorities have finalized comprehensive security arrangements for the upcoming matches of the Pakistan Super League 2026 in Peshawar, following a high-level meeting held at the Police Lines.
The meeting was chaired by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed and Commander 102 Brigade Brigadier Mubashir, and was attended by senior officials from law enforcement and security agencies.
Discussions focused on ensuring foolproof security, smooth traffic management, and effective coordination among all relevant departments during the event.
Officials were briefed on a detailed security plan aimed at safeguarding players, VIPs, spectators, and residents. Measures include the installation of CCTV cameras in and around the stadium, deployment of anti-drone systems, walkthrough gates, strict checking at entry and exit points, and the presence of bomb disposal units.
Personnel from Elite Force, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch, and Traffic Police will conduct coordinated patrols throughout the city to maintain law and order.
In addition, authorities have devised alternative traffic routes and parking arrangements to facilitate citizens and reduce inconvenience on match days.
Speaking on the occasion, CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed emphasized that maintaining peace and security during an international sporting event of this scale remains the top priority. He added that all departments are fully committed to ensuring the successful and safe conduct of the league.
