Security Enhanced for Chinese Investors, Business Moot Planned

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Chinese Embassy located in the Diplomatic Enclave.

The minister and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong held a meeting and discussed counter-terrorism measures, security cooperation, police exchange programs and other important matters. The overall regional situation was also reviewed.

The two sides agreed to further strengthen economic cooperation and decided to organize a business conference aimed at addressing the security concerns of Chinese investors in Pakistan. In the first phase, meetings will be held with the existing Chinese business community in the country, followed by outreach to potential new investors in the second phase.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi stated that a Special Protection Unit is being established to ensure the security of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens. He added that this unit will be responsible for safeguarding Chinese residents in Islamabad.

He further noted that personnel of the unit will receive training in the Chinese language during their preparation, in order to improve communication and enhance coordination between the two sides.
