PESHAWAR: Security forces carried out two major operations in Khyber Pakthunkhwa against terrorists, resulting in the deaths of 15 militants.

According to reports, the first operation was conducted in the Kalachi area of Dera Ismail Khan on November 15-16, following actionable intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the region. Security forces targeted a well-fortified hideout, employing precise and coordinated tactics.

As a result, ten militants, including the group’s senior commander Alam Mehsud, were neutralized during the operation. Authorities described the action as a decisive blow to the leadership structure of the terrorist network.

The second operation took place in Datakhil, North Waziristan, where security forces successfully eliminated five additional militants.

Following the engagements, clearance and sanitization operations are continuing in the region to ensure that no other militants remain hidden, thereby preventing potential threats to local communities.

Officials emphasized that these operations are part of the broader counter-terrorism campaign “Azm-e-Istiqamat,” which has been approved by the federal apex committee.
