According to ISPR, the operations were conducted on September 6 and 7 following reports of the presence of militants affiliated with the Indian-backed proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan.
On September 6, militants attempted to block a road and disrupt local traffic in Kharan. Security forces responded promptly and engaged the militants, killing eight of them.
On September 7, security forces conducted a planned intelligence-based operation in Washuk after receiving information about the presence of militants. The militants’ hideout was effectively neutralised following an intense exchange of fire, resulting in the deaths of three militants.
Security forces also recovered 2.9 tonnes of explosives from the hideout, which were allegedly being used to manufacture improvised explosive devices.
ISPR said sanitisation operations were continuing to eliminate remaining militants and ensure the area is cleared of any further threats.
