Security forces kill 11 terrorists in operation in Lakki Marwat

Operation conducted in the wake of a terror attack on army in which seven personnel were martyred a day earlier.

RAWALPINDI: Security forces today killed 11 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation conducted in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakthunkhwa, the media wing of the military stated in a statement in Rawalpindi.

It said the hideouts of terrorists were targeted by security forces in the wake of the attack on a convoy of the army a day earlier in which seven army personnel, including an officer, were martyred.

The security forces were targetted in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in Lakki Marwat on Sunday.

The ISPR said that an operation was carried out in different parts of Lakki Marwat on the basis of intelligence during which 11 terrorists were killed by the brave jawans of the army.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the army for continuing the fight against terrorists and tendering sacrifices in the line of duty.
