QUETTA: Security forces have thwarted a series of coordinated attacks in Balochistan, killing 58 terrorists, while 10 soldiers and five civilians were martyred during the operations, according to security sources.
The attacks were carried out late last night by a militant outfit identified by officials as Fitna-e-Hindustan, which targeted 12 different locations across the province. Law enforcement agencies and security forces responded swiftly and successfully foiled all attempted assaults.
However, militants attacked a Baloch laborer family in the Gwadar–Khuzdar area, killing five members of the family. The victims included a woman and three children, security officials confirmed.
Security sources said that counterterrorism operations are ongoing in several areas, with forces continuing to pursue the attackers. Of the total, 41 militants were killed during operations conducted over the past 48 hours.
During the counter-operations, 10 security personnel embraced martyrdom while defending the country. Authorities said aerial surveillance and additional ground operations remain underway to prevent further attacks.
Officials also noted that certain Indian media outlets and social media platforms are amplifying propaganda linked to the militant group, calling it evidence of a coordinated disinformation campaign.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the terrorist attacks and praised the security forces for thwarting the militants’ plans.
He paid tribute to the martyred soldiers, calling them national heroes whose sacrifices would always be remembered.
