PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the schedule for the Senate by-election on a general seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which fell vacant following the disqualification of former senator Murad Saeed.
According to details, April 7, 2026 has been fixed as the last date for submission of nomination papers. Candidates can obtain nomination forms from the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The names of candidates will be published on April 8, while scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed by April 10.
Appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed with the tribunal by April 13, and decisions on these appeals will be announced by April 15. A revised list of candidates will be published on April 16.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers has been set for April 17, 2026, while polling for the Senate seat will be held on April 23, 2026.
