ISLAMABAD: Senior Parliamentarians of two Pakistani Political Parties Jamat-e-Islami and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) met the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Pakistan H.E. Ahmed Jawad Rabei in Islamabad. During two separate meetings they expressed their solidarity with Palestine.
According to embassy spokesperson; The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Pakistan Ahmed Jawad Rabei met at the embassy today, Tuesday, August 25, 2020 with Senator Siraj ul-Haq the chief of Jamaat-e-Islami and his deputy, Muhammad Amin Islam.
They expressed their full solidarity with Palestine and affirmed the historical position of all Pakistani governments in support of Palestine at the regional and international levels and supported the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The Ambassador briefed about the latest situation in Palestine, the American deal of the century, the Israeli annexation plans for more of the occupied Palestinian territories and the tripartite agreement between the UAE, Israel and the United States of America.
Senator Siraj-ul-Haq, praised the recent Palestinian leadership meeting in Ramallah in the presence of all Palestinian political parties, including the Islamic parties, which embodied the unity of the Palestinian people in the face of dangers and challenges. In the end of the meeting they conveyed their greetings to His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas and His Excellency Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh.
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine H.E. Ahmed Jawad Rabei met with a three members of Parliament from the Pakistan People’s Party Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Raza Rubbani and Faisal Karim Kundi. The delegation was also briefed about the current situation of Palestine, the Israeli annexation plans for more of the occupied Palestinian territories.
The PPP’s Senior Parliamentarians also affirmed Pakistan’s historical position in support of the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination and establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. They also affirmed the steadfast position of the government and people of Pakistan not to recognize Israel. In the end of the meeting they conveyed their greetings to His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas.
