Senior Pilot Booked for Attempted Rape In India

BENGALURU: : A 26-year-old female pilot from Hyderabad was allegedly subjected to an attempted rape by a senior pilot at a hotel in Bengaluru, India.

According to reports, both the victim and the accused, 60-year-old Rohit Sharan, are employed as commercial pilots by the same aviation company.

The incident reportedly occurred during an official trip to Bengaluru, where the senior pilot allegedly attempted to assault the female pilot inside her hotel room.

Following the complaint lodged by the victim, Begumpet Police registered a case against Rohit Sharan. However, since the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Bengaluru, the case has been transferred to the Helesur Police Station and is now being investigated by Bengaluru authorities.

Both the victim and the accused had traveled to Bengaluru as part of their professional duties with the company. This incident has raised serious concerns regarding the safety and security of women working in professional environments, particularly in sectors traditionally dominated by men, such as aviation.

Authorities have assured a thorough investigation, and legal proceedings are ongoing.
