Seven killed in attack on construction firm in IIOK

Deceased include a doctor, residents say security failed to check killing.

SRINAGAR: At least seven people were killed in an attack by gunmen on a construction company in the Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir.

According to local media, the killing occured at Z-Morh tunnel Gagangeer of Srinagar-Leh Highway area of the district. Local people said that despite deployment of over half a million Indian troops, the armed attack showed their lack of security.

The authorities in the area said that workers were taking rest after finishing their work when armed persons barged into their camp and opened fire.

The deceased included a doctor, they said, adding that after the escape of the gunmen security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation.
