RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed seven terrorists in an intelligence based operation carried out in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing, ISPR, said here on Thursday.
It said that the security forces carried out an operation after receiving intelligence reports that members of the Khawarij were hiding in their hideout.The security forces successfully conducted the operation and killed seven members of the Khawarij group, formerly called Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
The ISPR said that huge cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered form the possession of the killed terrorists. It said that these terrorists were involved in attacking on security forces and innocent citizens.
An operation was being carried out to ensure no other member of the Khawaris was present in the area. The security forces, it added, were determined to eliminate terrorists form the country. Meanwhile, the president and prime minister paid tribute to the armed forces for successfully conducting the operation against the terrorists.
